Striped/Variegated Varieties for 2011

Black Pineapple (aka Ananas Noire) (70 days) A very unique tomato developed by Pascal Moreau – a Belgian horticulturist. Heavy yielding plants bear large (1-1/2 lb) multi coloured fruit with an interior flesh of yellow, green and purple – all in one tomato. Sweet and smoky flavour- with a hint of citrus. Indeterminate

Hillbilly (85 days) Originated in the hills of West Virginia. Fruits are large up to  1 lb., orange-yellow with red interior streaks. Potato-leafed variety.  Mild low acid flavour. Indeterminate.

Marvel Striped New for 2011 (90 days) One of the fruitiest and sweetest of the bi-colours. Very high producer of pretty heart-shaped yellow fruits with orange and red streaks throughout. Nice and meaty. Indeterminate.

Mr. Stripey (aka Tigerella) (70 days) Lovely striped golf ball size fruit. Sweet, juicy,  incredible flavour. Red skin with yellow-orange stripes. A favourite in our home garden. Indeterminate.

Old German New for 2011 This Mennonite biclour heirloom weighs in at more than 1 lb. Large yellow fruit with red streaking. Very sweet and delicious.

Piedmont Pear New for 2011 Very rare. This is the only pear shaped bi-colour I have ever found. These cute little gems are smallish, around 2-4 oz and are absolutely delicious. They are a stunning cream colour with a rosey blush. Indeterminate.

Pineapple (75 days) From Ohio area. Yellow-orange fruits have a pink stripe running through. Large 12-14 oz. Indeterminate.

Red Striped Roman Early. A stunning and unique orangey/yellow to red/yellow zigzag striped oval shaped tomato. Mild, very flavourful and meaty.

Striped Cavern (75 days) Interesting looking red striped with gold large plum shaped tomato. Suitable for stuffing as its interior is almost hollow. Indeterminate.

Striped German (70 days) A large orange Mennonite heirloom tomato streaked with red. A delicious sweet flavour. Indeterminate.

Vintage Wine  New for 2011( 84 days) A wonderful new addition to your garden. Pink with gold-stripe, pastel-hued, 1 lb tomto with pronounced, elegant sweet delicious flavour. Tall potato-leaf plant producing lots of fruit.

Yellow Striped Roman New for 2011. Early. Exterior is a stunning and uniqe yellow with wavy red stripes. An oval tomato, mid-sized with excellent flavour and a meaty texture. Good for drying, paste uses and for salads.
