Aussie (85 days) New for 2011 This Australian heirloom is a very nice big red beefsteak. Some of the fruits are more ribbed than others, but this is one of those fabulous varieties that will strike you as awesome when you see the first ripe tomato.
Beefsteak (90 days) A very old standard variety. Fruits are large, meaty, ribbed and deep scarlet . Weights average 12 oz. Fairly soft skinned for easy slicing. Indeterminate.

Brandywine, pink (90 days) Similar to the red version except this one has the characteristic potato-leafed foliage. Same great taste for this large pink fruit.Indeterminate.
Brianna (85 days) This has become another favourite – a prolific producer of large, beefsteak type pinkish red fruit with a sweet, rich flavour. Potato leafed -some fruits are so big they won’t fit in the palm of a hand. Indeterminate.
Brookpact New for 2011( 60 days) This early red is good for those with limited space. Plants tend to be small and neat but produce lots of large 6-10 oz fruit.
Caspian Pink (80 days) 1900 heirloom. This is the variety that beat Brandywine in recent taste tests!! One of the largest tomatoes in our garden. Originally from Russia, 11 oz fruits. Canestrino #2 (73 days) A red plum favourite from Tuscany. Very unique in that it is shaped like a fat little purse with no fluting. The flavour is excellent as is the yield. Indeterminate.
Chianti Rose New for 2011 (80 days) Medium size, deep rose beefsteaks have the perfect blend of sweetness to acid – a taste experience to remember. Plants set out lots of fruit for the size of the plant. Indeterminate.
Chinese (80 days) Seed was received from a “Seedy Saturday” seed exchange. It really deserves a more picturesque name. A nicely shaped bright red 4-6 oz fruit with huge yields and a true tomato taste. Indeterminate.
Cuor Di Bue (80 days) A beautiful Italian heirloom paste type tomato. A very meaty large red with few seeds, this tomato is probably the widest grown market tomato in Italy. The slightly flattened shape is “tucked’ at the stem end and looks like a purse with drawstrings. Cuostralee (70-85 days) 1 to 2# big, beautiful deep red beefsteak with ribbed shoulders and a robust, hearty flavour. Yield is excellent from this French heirloom. Indeterminate.
Ernie’s Plump (80 days) An Italian saucer tomato that cooks down to the reddest, richest, most flavourful sauce ever! Giant Paste (72 days) This American heirloom produces good yields of 6 ox paste tomatoes that are juicier than most other paste varieties. Good for tomato sauce, juice and tomato paste. Indeterminate.
Gigantesque New for 2011 (75 days) This rare Russian variety was originally from the Ukraine. The regular-leaf plants produce a heavy yield of 1-2 lb orange-red, beefsteak tomatoes with a meaty flesh with very few seeds and a wonderful robust flavour. This tomato which was one of the best producers in our 2010 trial garden will become a standard in our garden.
Glamour (74 days) Very popular old variety originally marketed by Joseph Harris Co., Rochester, New York in 1957. Strong, medium to large-sized firm tomato with good taste and crack tolerance. Interesting habit of growing large leaves that bend down to support the plant. Indeterminate.
Goliath Red New for 2011 (75 days) An outstanding proudcer all season long of smooth, round red golbes. This is the open pollinated version of the hybrid with the same name and is at the top of the list as an excellent market variety because of it’s beautiful blemish free fruits. Harbinger (55-60 days) Terrific flavour, reliable, lots per plant of medium-sized, thin-skinned fruit. Introduced 1910. Does well in cool areas. Indeterminate
Italian Heirloom (70-80 days) This classic Italian heirloom produces tomato plants that yield 12-16 oz., beautiful, red, meaty, slightly pear-shaped tomatoes with all the rich, complex, sweet flavours with good acid balance.
Italian Paste New for 2011 (90 days) Seeds from this heirloom came to North America from Italy during WW2. High yield of 3-5 oz paste fruit with very few seeds. Good, balanced flavour with the meatiness of a classic paste tomato.

Minelli Plum (75 days) A very prolific vining tomato plant that produces 6-8 oz red plum type fruit with good flavour.Good for tomato paste and sauce. Indeterminate.
Moneymaker (69 days). An old English heirloom; produces 4-6 oz globes that are intensely red, smooth and of very high quality. This variety grows well in hot humid climates and greenhouses, sets in most any weather. Produces up to 60 fruits per plant. Flavourful and becoming rare. Indeterminate.
Mortgage Lifter (71 days) Large (over 1 lb, said to reach 4 lbs!), meaty and vigorous red beefsteak. Original ‘Radiator Charlie’ strain. Legendary tomato developed in the 1930s by M. C. Byles of Logan, West Virginia. It is said that he sold his remarkable plants for $1.00 each and paid off his mortgage in six years. The fruits are very large, pink, over a pound each and one of the best beefsteak flavours available. A good slicer with few seeds. Plants are highly productive and disease resistant. Indeterminate.
Nepal New for 2011 (80 days) This tomato from the Himalayan Mountain area is one of the highest producing varieties we have grown. Fruits could not be more perfect, 8-12 oz globes with no cracking or blemishes. This is an excellent market type and great for home processing. Nice acid content. Indeterminate.
Omar’s Lebanese (75-80 days) One of the largest tomatoes grown 3-4 lbs. Good eating, meaty fruit with that sweet tomato taste. Indeterminate.
Opalka New for 2011 (85 days) Originally from Poland, this tomato is one of the best tasting paste tomatoes. It amazed us last year with its 5-inch long fruit, shaped like a banana pepper and with a pronounced tip on its end. San Marzano New for 2011 (78 days) This Italian heirloom is perhaps the best known paste tomato in the Italian community. A compact and prolific producer of bright red, 3 inch fruit over a long season, this plum type tomato has heavy walls with few seed so it’s great for tomato sauce. We consider this better tasting than the Roma paste tomato.
Scotia (60 days) This Canadian-bred variety produces heavy yields in short season areas. A beautiful early tomato with a lovely sweet flavour. Determinate.
Sementi New for 2011 (75 days) The Franchi Sementi seed company in Bergamo, Italy is the oldest family-run seed company in the world. Since 1783 it has been growing heirloom tomatoes and selling their seeds. This particular variety is a mystery, having been supplied with very little description except that it is a big red oxheart tomato. Indeterminate.
Siberia (50 days) This small tomato variety sets fruit early. Bright red juicy fruit with weights from 2-5 oz. Determinate.
Sicilian Saucer (75 days) Huge heavy red tomato, up to 2 pounds, slightly flattened shape. Thick, juicy, meaty flesh. A well-behaved plant that does not require staking.
Siletz (Russian Siletz) (52-75 days) One of the best early tomatoes. Dwarf, determinate plants produce unbelievable yields of perfectly shaped, 8 oz fruit that are loaded with old-time sweet tomato flavour. Perfect for the home or market grower. Determinate.
