Spring Break Farm
- is located in the “City of Kawartha Lakes” region, formerly Victoria County in Central Ontario and is a sustainable farm business owned by husband and wife team Roger Baker and Gloria Frewin.
We have a small herd of beef cattle – mostly Black Baldys, Herefords and Black Angus, 3 donkeys – Alice, Abby & Billie Bishop, a flock of 29 laying hens – mostly Barred Plymouth Rocks, 2 riding horses – Goldie, a palomino mare, Misty a part Pacifino paint mare and our trusty Australian Sheppard dog, Annie.
We have over the past 10 years been involved in marketing our organically grown garden produce at local Farmers’ Markets in Lindsay and Fenelon Falls and have, through membership in Kawartha Ecological Growers supplied several markets and restaurants in the Toronto area.
Until last year we also had a roadside stand where we sold our fresh garden produce as well as Gloria-Jean’s baking and preserves.
We are now concentrating our efforts on growing a substantial crop of “Music” garlic which is harvested in late July and on our Heirloom Tomato Seedling Sale held every spring starting the Victoria Day weekend in May.
